What to expect
Our counsellors are supportive and non-judgemental. You can talk freely with them about whatever you want. You can explore your thoughts and feelings and build a set of strategies to help you manage your problems more effectively.
What you say is confidential unless the counsellor is genuinely worried about your safety. Your sessions will take place weekly with the same counsellor and will last 50 minutes.
“Young people hate being talked down to. As a young person’s counsellor you have to be open and honest and give your clients time to open up. When my clients leave they thank me, but I tell them they have done all the hard work as it isn’t easy talking about the things that are worrying them.” – Relate young person’s counsellor
